Employment in NYC’s post-production industry continues to grow at a phenomenal rate. Our guests at this panel are five post-production women in post. We'll discuss what each panelist does and how they’ve grown their businesses or careers in film and television.

Panelists:

CAROL MINTZ - Director, Operations & Business Development WBNY
Carol started her career at R/GA in Visual Effects. She moved over to Sound One where she was the Studio Production Manager for 12 years. She is currently at Warner Brothers NY, heading their NY sound facility. Carol likes ice cream.

CLAIRE SHANLEY - Post Producer
Claire Shanley is a Post Producer whose recent projects include “The Deuce” S2 (HBO), “The Looming Tower” (Hulu), and “Divorce” S2 (HBO). Before producing episodic work, Claire was a senior manager at several bicoastal post production companies, including Sixteen19, Lorne Michaels’ Broadway Video, and Orbit. Her technical roots were planted when she worked as an assistant editor & editor, and then joined the tech-nerd world as an Avid Support Specialist.

KIM PIERCE - SVP, Post Production

Kim has been working in Post Production for over 25 years. Before joining Atlas Media in 2004 her talents as Director of Operations and Sr. Account Manager were honed for several years at some of NYC’s most elite Post facilities such as Magno Sound and Image Group.  Having overseen the Post for more than 5000 hours of programming, her experience has led her to work across a multitude of platforms for productions on shows for Netflix, Discovery Channel, Scripps, E! Entertainment, MSNBC, and Travel Channel.

NANCY ALLEN - Music Editor
Nancy joined the film world in 1996 as a sound apprentice. In 1997 she had the great fortune to begin working as assistant to Music Editor Suzana Peric, with whom she worked for the better part of 10 years. Since then she has worked as a music editor on such tv series as "Billions" S1 and S3 and "Divorce" S1 and features such as "Mudbound", "Mother!", "Collateral Beauty", "Noah", "Bessie", "Black Swan", "Limitless", and "The Tempest". She is currently working on "The Goldfinch" which will be released in the fall of 2019.

VIVIAN CONNOLLY - CEO/Executive Producer, Phosphene
Before co-founding Phosphene in 2008, Vivian Connolly was Head of Production at Edgeworx Inc. where she oversaw all production and worked closely with John Bair on projects including "Synecdoche, New York", "SeeMore’s Playhouse", "Chicago 10", "The Universe", Peabody winner "Judgment Day", and "Saturday Night Live in the '90s."

Vivian has led strategic planning for Phosphene’s expansion and growth, including a hands-on approach to building a diverse, creative and collaborative team.  Vivian has used her wide-range of production and post-production experience to develop new approaches to the management side of the VFX industry, resulting in a more streamlined and efficient workflow.

Under Vivian and John’s leadership, Phosphene has teamed up with HBO, FOX, Sony, A24, Dreamworks, Paramount, Universal, CBS, ABC, FX, HULU, Warner Bros., Netflix, Amazon, Showtime and Cinemax. Phosphene has received a VES Award for their work on "Boardwalk Empire" and three Emmy Award nominations for their work on "Mildred Pierce" and "Boardwalk Empire".

Phosphene’s recent projects also include: "Paterno", "The Greatest Showman", "Hostiles", "Billions", "The Deuce", "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel", "The Looming Tower", "The Girl on the Train", "Foxcatcher", "The Fault in our Stars", and "A Most Violent Year."

Vivian is a lifelong New Yorker and the proud vice-chair of the Post New York Alliance.
