We have been hearing a lot about the effects AI could have on the post production industry. When considering AI by itself, it is a complex and nuanced topic, one that touches every aspect of what we do - creatively, technically, financially and legally.
So, this 60th episode of PNYA Post Break was not going to do that. Instead, it considered AI in the context of applied, present-day examples and use cases. There won't be prognosticating, speculation or doom and gloom. Instead, we heard from our friends and colleagues about how they are actually using AI today, or choosing not to use AI at all, or in some cases being told that its use is expressly forbidden.
We heard from a variety of crafts and MPEG Local 700, and kept an eye toward the demands of editorial and VFX workflows. Takeaways included new lenses through which to consider this topic and ideas about how we can be ready for it in our careers and our crafts right now.
Speakers: Speakers featured editors, VFX professionals, post executives, and a representative from MPEG Local 700
Moderator: Chris Peterson (Post Executive, PNYA Board Member) is a post production and business development executive who is working on the film FINNEGAN'S FOURSOME (Edward Burns). He is also a PNYA Board Member / Board Secretary and chairs its Education & Events Committee. Other credits include A REAL PAIN (Jesse Eisenberg) and HEREDITARY (Ari Aster). He has also served on the advisory board of Deliverable, a SaaS that leveraged AI to accelerate operations for creative companies.
