Kiss the Ground / Movie Night 5.12.21

Posted By Administration, Tuesday, May 18, 2021

Narrated and featuring Woody Harrelson, “Kiss the Ground” is an inspiring and groundbreaking film that reveals the first viable solution to our climate crisis.

Science experts and celebrity activists unpack the ways in which the Earth’s soil may be the key to combating climate change and preserving the planet. By regenerating the world’s soils, we can completely and rapidly stabilize Earth’s climate, restore lost ecosystems, and create abundant food supplies.

This movie is positioned to catalyze a movement to accomplish the impossible – to solve humanity’s greatest challenge, to balance the climate and secure our species future.

Watch the film in your own time – Stream it on Netflix, or register to watch HERE

The Process of Recycling

How does the largest city in the United States sort through 1,000 tons of recyclables each day?

Find out by joining us on a virtual tour of Sims' Municipal Recycling facility located in Brooklyn, New York. Kara Napolitano, the Education and Outreach Coordinator, will guide us with videos, pictures, and graphics through the largest materials recovery facility in the country, which processes 100% of New York City’s municipal recycling.

Kara hosts thousands of visitors each year, inspiring and empowering attendees of all ages to create less waste and recycle right. Kara has worked as an informal educator and arts administrator for over 15 years and is now proud to now be a part of the Sims team, helping New York City work towards zero waste.
