The Process of Recycling How does the largest city in the United States sort through 1,000 tons of recyclables each day? Find out by joining us on a virtual tour of Sims' Municipal Recycling facility located in Brooklyn, New York. Kara Napolitano, the Education and Outreach Coordinator, will guide us with videos, pictures, and graphics through the largest materials recovery facility in the country, which processes 100% of New York City’s municipal recycling. Wednesday, March 10, 2021 At 5pm EST Kara hosts thousands of visitors each year, inspiring and empowering attendees of all ages to create less waste and recycle right. Kara has worked as an informal educator and arts administrator for over 15 years and is now proud to now be a part of the Sims team, helping New York City work towards zero waste.
