Post Break
Prior to Covid, the Education committee produced regular informational panels and talks followed by cocktail hours at post facilities all around New York. At the onset of Covid, the committee was able to pivot quickly to weekly Zoom meetings
called Post Break. These online sessions were a welcome way of members keeping in touch with each other during lockdown, and were attended by the entire membership- post producers, post production artists and operators, facility owners
and early career post professionals, plus decision makers from studios, networks and the general public. Post Break served as the gathering place for New York's industry to discuss up to the minute best practices for keeping our industry
healthy and vibrant during the pandemic. Following each session were virtual breakout rooms that provided a place for members to maintain contact and even network with new people during lockdown.
Post Break continues
to be a gathering place for community and knowledge, producing sessions on topics including Turnover for Assistant Editors, Freelance vs Full-Time Employment, Mental Health Awareness and Virtual Production. Meetings are every other
Friday at 10:00 EST and all members are invited to attend and pitch ideas for future sessions, with support from long-time members to help produce and moderate Post Break events.
