Networking*
Post Production can be an insular community. We have typically hired from within, and from a small pool of people "who we know".The PNYA is dedicated to opening up the hiring process and breaking down all barriers of entry into our community. As a result, we have created these networking opportunities. Our hope is that by expanding “who we know” to include more diverse communities, we can pave the way for a more inclusive and diverse post community.

If you are not a member and would like to become one, please click on JOIN US! in the upper right corner of our website.

Face to Face with Post Professionals is open to all PNYA members but is geared to those from BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and other underrepresented communities. Participants may be entering the industry, switching fields or genres, or moving up in their careers. Each interested participant will schedule thirty-minute, one-on-one sessions with more established post-professionals. Whether the sessions are about workflows or career paths, these initial conversations will expand circles of "who we know," and will hopefully lead to lasting connections, greater access to resources, job opportunities, and career growth. Click on the logo to see a screenshot of our Face to Face with Post Professional page. Access to scheduling meetings with these and other professionals is limited to members only.

Communication is more important than ever during these challenging times. That’s why we’ve created a Slack workspace to promote communication within our PNYA Individuals and Company members. This is an effort to get immediate communication and feedback, as well as keep a sense of community through this COVID crisis. Click on the logo to join now!

Who You Don't Know are Zoom-based conference networking events focused on introducing professionals at various experience levels to each other. These networking events replace the traditional cocktail hour at in-person events where people hand out business cards. Each meeting focuses on a different area within post-production. Participants are directed to small breakout rooms that have both experienced pros and careers aspirants. Hopefully, introductions at these events will lead to longer conversations and then to job opportunities. Access to most of these events is for members only.
