Aimed at anyone interested, but especially Post Supervisors, Coordinators and Producers, the event is to illuminate and explain the basics, the truths and the myths of hiring and working with actors during the Post Production process. SAG-AFTRA-AFTRA work days, rates and tiers, to name just a few areas. Hosted by the PNYA, Sound Lounge and Dann Fink, the event will take place 7pm, June 21st at Sound Lounge. Featured on the panel will be Stephanie Perry, Director Theatrical Contracts and Steven Meicke, Director Television Contracts, and moderated by Post Producer David Woods.
Some specific topics that will be covered are:
- SAG-AFTRA Day Player contract basics for ADR.
- Low Budget Tiers: what the tiers are and how they’re determined; how they differ from Basic, and perhaps most importantly a quick explanation of they correlate with Local 700 Tiers.
- Differences in SAG-AFTRA rules in New York vs. L.A.
- The myth of hiring Non-Union loop groups for SAG-AFTRA films.
- Global Rule 1 basics of doing Post ADR work on a film that was shot outside of the US.
- Station 12 Clearance and why you need to do it.
- Ways in which Day Player rules differ between ADR work and on-camera.
- Rules regarding revoicing on-camera Day Players and Background.
- SAG-AFTRA Final cast list before wrap and why it’s important.
