Increase employment of BIPOC, LGBTQ+ and individuals from underrepresented communities (taking into account those who are disabled, issues of ageism and bias against parents) in New York Post Industry at all professional levels: Pipeline; Entry-level; Mid-Career; Established
Recruit and retain more BIPOC members to PNYA through outreach, programming, and strategic partnerships
Develop and sustain equitable and inclusive workspaces for all employees in Post (encourage PNYA members/ support the community)
Post Production can be an insular community. We have typically hired from within, and from a small pool of people "who we know". The PNYA is dedicated to opening up the hiring process and breaking down all barriers to entry into our community. Our hope is that by expanding “who we know” to include more diverse communities, we can pave the way for a more inclusive and diverse post community.
The Equity & Inclusion Committee meets every other Wednesday at 11 am EST. For the Zoom URL email us at membership@postnewyork.org.
To be involved in any of the Equity & Inclusion initiatives at the PNYA, join the committee and jump in!
Face to Face
Face to Face with Post Professionals is open to all PNYA members but is geared to those from BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and other underrepresented communities. Participants may be entering the industry, switching fields or genres, or moving up in
their careers. Each interested participant will schedule thirty-minute, one-on-one sessions with more established post-professionals. Whether the sessions are about workflows or career paths, these initial conversations will expand
circles of "who we know," hopefully leading to lasting connections, greater access to resources, job opportunities, and career growth.
Access to scheduling meetings with these and other professionals is limited to members only.
